Infrared Simulation

Basic composition of infrared simulation

The dynamic infrared scene simulation system based on DMD consists of the following parts: lighting source, DMD display, collimating optical system, computer image generator CIG DMD drive circuit, etc. The infrared image data is generated by a computer image generator and input to the DMD device through a DLP digital light processing video processing circuit and a DMD driver circuit. Use an illumination light source (black body) to uniformly irradiate the DMD surface, and use the DMD reflection to modulate the incident radiation to generate an infrared thermal image. The generated infrared scene is projected to the entrance pupil of the system under test through a collimating optical system, so that the image spot size and radiation energy spatial distribution of the infrared scene and the real target and background on the detector are consistent, in order to achieve the purpose of evaluating the performance of the system under test.

Application of DLP Infrared Simulation Technology

Scene infrared simulation can be applied to many fields such as infrared image analysis and research, battlefield environment simulation, and infrared weapon testing. The image is compressed into a single pixel using compression technology and special coding, and then remotely obtained by an infrared transmitting/receiving device. The captured image is obtained through decoding.
